Arrival Fès — Spiritual & Scholarly Heart
Arrival in Fès (from Jeddah via Saudi Airlines). Transfer to hotel. Walk through Fès el-Bali — madrasas, zawiyas (Sufi lodges) and historic mosques. View Al Quaraouiyine University (founded 859 AD, world's oldest continuously operating university) and the Al Quaraouiyine Mosque (one of the most significant mosques in North Africa — viewed from outside; non-Muslims cannot enter).
Fès — Sufism & Madrasas
Visit Bou Inania Madrasa (Marinid theological college) and the Zaouia of Moulay Idriss II (shrine of Idris II). Explore traditional Quranic schools and the artisan quarters tied to religious life. Optional Sufi gathering in the evening (subject to availability).
Day Trip: Meknès & Moulay Idriss Zerhoun
Travel to Meknès to visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail (tomb of the Alaouite ruler). Continue to Moulay Idriss Zerhoun — one of Morocco's holiest towns, associated with Idris I — a major pilgrimage site with a strong spiritual atmosphere. Optional stop at Volubilis (pre-Islamic Roman ruins, context for the transition of civilizations).
Fès → Rabat — Political & Religious Heritage
Drive to Rabat. Visit Hassan Tower (unfinished 12th-century mosque minaret) and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V (resting place of Mohammed V and Hassan II). Walk through the Kasbah of the Udayas — a peaceful reflection spot above the ocean.
Casablanca — Hassan II Mosque & Departure
Transfer to Casablanca for a guided tour of Hassan II Mosque — one of the largest mosques in the world and one of the few in Morocco open to non-Muslims. Reflect on Morocco's blend of traditional and modern Islamic identity before transfer to Mohammed V International Airport for the return flight via Jeddah to Jakarta.
